The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Participates in the International Exhibitions and Conferences Summit
Publication date: 25 December 2024 - 23 Jumada al-thani 1446The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development participated in the International Exhibitions and Conferences Summit, organized by the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA), with the attendance of over 1,000 speakers from leaders in the global exhibitions and conferences sector, representing 73 countries.
The Ministry's participation included a workshop titled "Bridging the Talent Gap and Preparing Competent Leaders for Exhibitions and Conferences." Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, the Undersecretary for Skills and Training, spoke about the Ministry’s efforts to enhance skills development. These efforts include establishing and activating 12 sectoral skills councils, with membership from over 200 entities across the public and private sectors, launching sectoral skills frameworks that encompass career paths and professional skills, and introducing the Saudi Skills Classification Guide, which aligns with the unified classification of professions. Dr. Al-Zahrani also discussed the national training campaign, "Waad," highlighting the achievements of its first phase, including the launch of its second edition, which aims to provide 3 million training opportunities.
At the conclusion of the summit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulmohsen Al-Rasheed, honored the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for its exceptional support in developing the sector's workforce. This included training over 34,000 young men and women in 2024 and reaffirming its commitment to future programs in collaboration with sector partners.
